California Accident App — Law Offices of Norman Gregory Fernandez

Last updated: 18 August 2026

This policy explains what the California Accident App (“the app”) collects, why, and what you can do about it. The app is published by the Law Offices of Norman Gregory Fernandez (“the firm”, “we”).

Using this app does not make us your lawyers. The app gives automated legal information, not legal advice, and no attorney–client relationship is created by installing it, answering its questions, or receiving a report. Do not send information you consider confidential until a written agreement is in place.

1. What we collect

CategoryWhat it isWhy
Account details Your name, email address, phone number, and a password (stored only as a one-way hash — we never see it) To create your account, save your report so you can return to it, and contact you if a filing deadline is close
Health and injury information The answers you give the intake questionnaire: your injuries, treatment received, treatment status, prognosis, prior conditions, medical amounts billed and paid, and lost income To calculate your case-strength score, filing deadlines and preliminary figures, and to write your Case Strategy Report
Accident details Accident type and date, who you believe was at fault, any description you type, evidence you list, insurance and coverage answers Same as above
Generated documents Your Case Strategy Report and its PDF So you can read, download and share it, and so an attorney can review it if you ask
Requests you make Attorney-verification requests and consultation requests To respond to them
App activity Which screens and features are used, as short event names. Values are filtered to short strings, numbers and true/false, and the app is written not to put personal details in them To understand which parts of the app are useful and to spot faults

The app does not collect your location, your contacts, your photos, or advertising identifiers, and it contains no advertising or third-party tracking SDKs.

2. Face ID / biometrics

If you switch on the biometric lock, your device performs the check. Your face or fingerprint data never leaves your device and is never sent to us — the app only receives a yes-or-no result.

3. Who else sees your information

WhoWhat they receive
The firm's attorneys and staffYour intake answers and report, so a case can be triaged and reviewed
Our AI provider (OpenAI)Your intake answers, in order to write the plain-English explanation in your report. This is disclosed in the app before you answer. The provider does not use this content to train its models.
Our hosting and database provider (DigitalOcean)Stores the data on our behalf, in the United States
Our email providerYour email address, to send account and case notifications

We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

4. How long we keep it

We keep your account and reports until you delete them, or until the firm no longer needs them for the matter and for the record-retention period California law requires of law firms. You can delete everything yourself at any time — see below.

5. Deleting your account and data

In the app: Settings → “Delete My Account & Data”. This permanently removes your account, your answers, your reports and your consultation requests.

Without the app: see our account deletion page, or email law@norman-law.com from your account's email address.

6. Your California privacy rights

Under the CCPA/CPRA you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may ask what we have collected and disclosed. Contact us using the details below. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

7. Children

The app is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. Where a claim concerns an injured minor, the adult using the app answers on their behalf.

8. Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Passwords are stored only as hashes. Report files are held in a restricted store and are shared only through links that expire. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, tell you in the app.
